DEDHAM, Maine — A driver who suffered minor injuries in a rollover accident Saturday morning was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident.

Lucas Lamond, 20, of Brewer, was driving south on Peakes Hill Lodge Road in Dedham around 12:15 a.m. Aug. 11 when he lost control of his 2000 GMC pickup truck and crossed the oncoming traffic lane before cruising off-road.

The truck hit an embankment and rolled over once, coming to rest on its roof, according to a report by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office. The driver suffered several cuts and scratches but did not seek medical treatment.

Lamond was issued a summons on charges of leaving the scene of a property damage accident and failure to report an accident by the quickest means.

Both charges are Class E crimes, punishable by up to six months incarceration and a $1,000 fine.

  1. Hey he may have needed time to sober up….give him a break..NOT… Just like the hit in run the night of the Zac Brown Concert when the lady mowed the guy down and then simply drove home…she was a Raenas Pub regular..  this kid eveidentally had something to hide too.

  2. So you can be charged for NOT reporting ‘an accident by the quickest means’ which is a Class E crime, punishable by up to six months incarceration and a $1,000 fine…….but if someone knows a child is being molested and doesn’t report it ‘by the quickest means’ … no problem … no fine…no jail time…..perfect……REALLY??????

    1. That’s not true. If someone knows a child is being molested and they don’t report it right away it just means that, at some point in the future, their football team will face brutal sanctions.

      1. jd don’t you think we got enough laws on the books,, how about they just enforce the ones we got ??

        1. The problem is we are enforcing the laws regarding mandated reporters. They failed to report and we are doing nothing.

      1. ? Put on your glasses dear.  ; )   Yes the towns of Dedham and Penobscot are both in Hancock County. As I stated above; “Same county, different town”…I never said either one was in Penobscot Co.
