BREWER, Maine — Brewer police arrested two area men on felony burglary charges after they reportedly broke into a residence Sunday morning and were confronted by the homeowner.
Michael Kelley, 30, of Corinth was charged with Class A burglary and Charles Stevenson, 29, of Brewer was charged with Class B burglary, Brewer police Capt. Jason Moffitt said Monday.
Both suspects are out on bail, a Penobscot County Jail official confirmed.
Moffitt said the two allegedly broke into a Brewer residence shortly after 9 a.m. Sunday morning and were surprised by the homeowner, who returned home unexpectedly because he had forgotten something.
He said that one of the suspects had a bottle of prescription pills in his pocket but returned it after he was confronted by the homeowner.
Brewer police Sgt. Arden Jones found Kelley first and arrested him at his home. Stevenson was arrested about an hour later, after he turned himself into police, Moffitt said.

If they hadn’t said otherwise I would put Kelly at 35+ and Stevenson at 40+.
