TRENTON – Herbert James Wentworth Jr., 64, passed away unexpectedly Aug. 10, 2012, at his home, where he lived most of his life – “his farm,” as he called it.
He was a big antique collector, often working for auctioneers and a very special friend, Super Sandal, to get antiques. Even though he was never homeless, his goal was always to take care of other people that might not have a place to stay. The farm always had an open door policy. Through this, he helped out a lot of people. When some managed to get on their feet, they kept in touch with him. Some stayed and became family. He was his own man! Loved by many.
Herbert is survived by his son, Herbie Wentworth III; his sister, Polly; brothers, Alonzo, Jack and Gene; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Herbert James and Norma Mae (Leonard) Wentworth Sr.; sister, Edna; and brother, Jack, who passed away at 4 months old. To all of us, he was our Big Brother. We will miss you, Big Bro! As sis always said, “I believe your kindness to others, Herb, will bring you peace, everybody in my book has a meaning in life.”
Remembrance for Herbie will be held noon-2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at his home. Everybody is welcomed. Arrangements by Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. Condolences may be expressed at www.jordanfernald.com.
