SANFORD, Maine — A man was taken to a local hospital for psychiatric evaluation Wednesday after he caused a disturbance at the Sanford Walmart, according to police.
Police were called to the scene around 2:45 p.m. after a man destroyed two televisions in the store’s electronic section, said Sanford Deputy Chief Tim Strout.
When police arrived, two customers had the man, whose identity police aren’t releasing because he wasn’t charged with any crimes, under control, according to Strout.
Sanford police transported the man to Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford for an evaluation, Strout said. No charges are expected to be filed in the case.
