GRAY, Maine — Some of the Maine game wardens featured on the Animal Planet TV show “North Woods Law” will meet with the public this week at the Maine Wildlife Park in Gray.

State game officials say the event will take place Thursday afternoon. Officials have received a lot of requests for the event from parents of children who watch the Discovery cable TV program.

Visitors will have the chance to meet several of the featured game wardens and a couple of their K-9s to learn more about them and their job.

There will be special items for children as well as the opportunity to get autographs and photographs with the wardens.

There is no extra fee for this event, but regular park admission will apply.

  1. LOL. North Woods Law. What a joke. Never above Bangor. Nor out of their vehicles. Man this new generation of wardens must sleep with a night light. Half of them want to be troopers.

    1. No kidding you only got three real wardens left within the state. I mean get out get dirty and work good cases for the good of natural resources Wardens. Who don’t care about politics nor how pretty they look for the ladies.

    2. No, you don’t. The good ones you have no idea where they are. Besides only about 3 real wardens left in the state. They have no routine, and work like phantoms. They are the scarey and good ones. Got moxie they do.

  2. Most of these new breed of wardens could not catch a cold, unless there is a a stool pigeon on a cell phone informing them.

  3. You never know how many red necks are in Maine until you watch that show.  And it only reinforces Le Page comment about how Mainahs are viewed from  outside the state. But man it is entertaining show compared to the 99% of the other garbage on tv.

    1. I don’t think most of us set much store by how Lepage thinks Mainers are viewed by out of staters.  There is no shortage of idiots in this state, but it is no different than any other state or place out there.  There will all ways be morons out there, and if you watched some of the other similar shows they show the same kind of people all the time.

    1. I did. So, to you I say there s more then chasing kids on atv’s, using authority to seek out pesonal get back, picking on 80 year old men for a chuckle. While this is all going on a real pro poachers are whacking deer and moose hauling back straps and leaving the rest. Crying out loud guys and gals ravens coming out of the woods at 200 yards means something. But hey what doI know keep lifting those weights, and jogging those miles. I guess it all means something. So, yes if it wasn’t for someone calling them on thier cell they would have 50 percent or more less citations. 12 years since I even had a license check, and in the woods everyday. So, I guess I WILL keep giving comments Mr. Keaton,  and if you’ld like to go for a day I’ll show you more violation being committed then most of todays wardens see in a month.

  4. I like watching the show.  It’s entertaining.  They just scratch the surface of what wardens do.  Walk in their shoes before you comment.
All states have bone headed losers.  Just watch Cops.

  5. Its to bad that some of these “sportsmen” , I mean the ones that all they have to do is complain about the wardens,  should do something about it.  Maybe some of these people should help instead of b****ing about it. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a hunter but dragging these guys through the mud is not the way to solve a problem!
