Reinstein and husband, Charles, Meaghan A. Perkins, Adam J. French and partner, Amanda, Brook C. Perkins and partner, Jon and Gabrielle S. Farrenkopf; and three great-grandchildren, Chloe A. Perkins, Olivia M. Perkins and Mason J. Perkins; and one great-great-grandchild, Jordyn H. Perkins. Ruth is also survived by one brother, Harold A. Allen and wife, Eleanor; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Robert A. Perkins, in 1976; and an infant daughter, Sara Jane Perkins, in 1967. Ruth wanted to remember two very special friends of many decades, Jeanette Grindle and Eva Colson, who, between the three of them sorted out many problems and handled many family crises over the telephone lines. Their friendship meant a great deal to Mom.
Ruth passed many hours making full-size quilts for family members, as well as many baby quilts for family or friends of family. It didn’t take much convincing for Mom to make a beautiful baby quilt for someone if it was suggested it would be much appreciated by mother and baby alike. Nothing pleased her more than to go through her cloth, planning the pattern for the next quilt and its lucky recipient.
At Ruth’s wishes, a graveside gathering will be held for immediate family only. Contribution may be made in her memory to a charity of your choice, or to St. John’s Catholic Church Restoration Fund, 207 York St., Bangor, ME 04401. Arrangements under the direction of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bucksport.
