FORT FAIRFIELD – Susan R. (Towle) Oldenburg, 55, wife of Timothy W. Oldenburg, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning, Aug. 21, 2012, at her Fort Fairfield residence. She was born Dec. 10, 1956, in Fort Fairfield, daughter of Everett L. Sr. and Mavis (Ladner) Towle.
She was a graduate of Fort Fairfield High School, class of 1975 and was married to Timothy W. Oldenburg, June 9, 1976. Susan had been employed as an accountant at D.F.A.S., Limestone, for the past eight years.
She was predeceased by her father, Everett L. Towle Sr.; three sisters, Nancy Haines, Patricia McCue and Christina Fuller. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Timothy; her mother, Mavis L. Towle, both of Fort Fairfield; one son, Joshua Wayne Oldenburg of Portland; one daughter, Lindsey Sue Oldenburg Francis of Presque Isle; one brother and sister-in-law, Everett L. Jr. and Linda Towle of Othello, Wash.; four sisters, Carleen Coffin of Bangor, Jacqueline Anderson and her husband, Robert, of Webster, N.Y., Mary LeVasseur of Vancouver, Wash., Kathryn Towle of Fort Fairfield; two grandchildren, Raina Francis of Presque Isle and Acadia Oldenburg of Montgomery, Ala. Susan also leaves behind her father and mother-in-law, Robert E. and Ada G. Oldenburg of Zephyrhills, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Marcia Jean Oldenburg of Tampa, Fla., Karen Sue Oldenburg of Augusta; one brother-in-law, Steven Robert Oldenburg and his wife, Diana, of Westfield; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where a funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Diane Langworthy officiating. Interment will take place after the service at Estes Park Cemetery, Easton. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held after the interment at VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield.
