WINTERVILLE and EAGLE LAKE – Eva (Albert) Rochester, 77, died peacefully Aug. 26, 2012, surrounded by her family at her residence. She was born Aug. 16, 1935, at Eagle Lake, daughter of Alvin and Anne (Madore) Albert.
Eva graduated from Fort Kent Community High School in 1954, valedictorian of her class. She was married Oct. 23, 1954, at Eagle Lake, after moving from New York to Eagle Lake. She enjoyed teaching at Eagle Elementary School and later became the principal. She loved to watch birds and feed them, also enjoyed fishing and hunting waterfowl and small game, also, reading, doing crossword puzzles, dancing and walking the beaches collecting shells.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert Rochester of Winterville; three sons, Michael and wife, Naomi, of Eagle Lake, Richard and wife, Cathie, of Kittery, and David and wife, Michelle, of Presque Isle; grandchildren, Robert and wife, Laurie, Bethany, Ariel, Jesse, Jonathan, and Kelly; brothers and sisters, Normand Albert, Rella Damon, Norma Laferrier, Rita Martin, Fernand Albert, Roland Albert, Ronald Albert, Joan Soucie, Alvin Albert and Fernande Moore. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Danny Albert.
Friends may call 8 a.m. until time of the service Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Daigle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eagle Lake. Committal services will be after at the parish cemetery.
