PASSADUMKEAG, Maine — A Penobscot County sheriff’s deputy arrested two Howland residents riding in the same vehicle last week after receiving a tip about the whereabouts of a woman who was wanted on a warrant.
Peter Stone said the tip he received indicated that the wanted woman — 29-year-old Carol Ann Curtis — was a passenger the vehicle, which he located in Passadumkeag on Aug. 20.
When he stopped the vehicle, however, he not only found Curtis, he also determined that the driver, Peter Harry Oliver, 35, did not have a valid driver’s license, Stone said Wednesday.
That’s because it had been revoked because Oliver had been deemed a habitual offender of state motor vehicle laws.
Stone arrested Curtis on two active warrants. He arrested Oliver on a charge of operating after habitual offender revocation. Both Curtis and Oliver have been released on bail.
