BANGOR, Maine — Alert police officers on the lookout for drunk drivers early Saturday morning, caught and charged three people with operating under the influence within 30 minutes, according to Bangor police Sgt. Bob Bishop.

“We had three OUIs in rapid succession,” the sergeant said, crediting the skills of Officers Wade Betters and Shawn Green. “All three were low-level OUIs.”

The first stop was made at 1:12 a.m., shortly after bars closed, and the final one was made at 1:39 a.m.

Japan Soni, 25, a student living in Bangor, Jason McGowan, 24, of Bangor and Clifford Dupray, 26, of Dixmont all were charged with drunk driving and released from the police station, Bishop said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)

  1. Alert Police officers my butt…This party was posted all over Facebook and they sat there waiting for them to basically drive into their trap.  Good that they took care of getting Drunk Drivers off the road but lets not give too much credit here…

  2. All 3 low level OUIs . Seems to be that at one time a Bangor officer was caught fixing or tampering with test results.  I found it a bit funny when on my second test the results were .09 first test was .08 but the expert witness they had swore under oaths the result are within 1/1000th or being accurate . I might be nit picking but a lie is a lie and no place for a law enforcement officer in court just to get a conviction.  How many time have we saw LE drive dunk? Me maybe 20.
