SANGERVILLE – Carol (Clukey) Burgess, 82, passed away Sept. 5, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Jan. 7, 1930, in Sangerville, to Harold and Mary Clukey. She was one of seven daughters.
On April 10, 1948, she married Reynold C. Burgess and moved to the family farm in East Sangerville. They raised six children in the home she loved on Douty Hill Road. Carol’s passions were her family, her flower gardens and bird watching. Also, she was an avid sports fan, especially the Red Sox.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years; children, Lance of Sangerville, Kathryn McCatherin and partner, Frank Connolly, of Hermon, Jayne Starbird and husband, John, of Arrowsic, Jeff and wife, Brenda, of Belfast, Barbara Lowe and husband, Lance, of Unity, and Charles and partner, Walter Kallenback, of Ogunquit; grandchildren, Ryan Starbird, Jason, Eric, Seth and Jeremy Burgess, Christopher Burgess and wife, Maygen, Nick Lowe and wife, Terri, Christopher Lowe and wife, Julia, Frank Connolly IV, and Beth Johnson and husband, Scott; three great-grandchildren, Blaike, Riley and Cameron; and sisters, Lucille, Lorraine and Loretta. She was predeceased by her parents; and sisters, Rose, Zelda and Madeline. A special thank you to Leola Pingree and Mary Ann Walsh.
