SABATTUS, Maine — A Sabattus man is facing felony drug charges after a marijuana bust at his home, police said.
David Bizier, 48, was charged with unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs, a Class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison, according to Sabattus police Chief Anthony Ward.
A two-week investigation led Sabattus police and drug enforcement officials to Bizier’s home, according to Ward.
Ward said police on Friday seized more than a pound of processed marijuana and $3,000 in cash. The pot supply included “several hundred plants,” the chief said.
Bizier was booked into the Androscoggin County Jail and later released on bail. Ward said the drugs had a street value of $600,000.
The incident remains under investigation, and Ward said it’s possible the district attorney’s office could elevate the charge to a Class B felony. If so, Bizier could face up to 10 years behind bars.

SPLENDID! $6,000,000,000,000 worth of drugs off the streets of Sabattus.
The war on drugs is won! Move along now…nothing to see here…
*note sarcasm*
$600,000!?!?!?!?!
That clinches it. I’m pulling up my tomatoes and putting in cannabis. One good year and I can retire!
*note sarcasm*
You may want to keep a few tomato plants for the munchies lol
Honest, your honor this is just for personal use, I have glaucoma
Who cares what it’s for?
In an unrelated incident, 3 convenience stores go out of business due to a drop in snack sales, alcohol related disturbances spike.
BS. I dont believe he had that much. How are they figuring their prices? At 2 to 4 hundred bucks an ounce? That would be a huge amount in volume! They must be weighing the dirt and containers again..
$400.00 an once would be a darn high price… but high ball it for a min… thats still on $6400 plus the $3000 cash (which isn’t illegal) still only $9400… So say 300 plants at $200 per plant average because clones and babies arent worth a full grown female etc… Still only $69400.
My point here is BDN has very inaccurate numbers, the police may have exaggerated what they found in an effort to galvanize public distain for drug dealers? Or what is probably most likely BDN meant $60,000. $600,000 is a lot of gange
$600 K?
BS!
600,000 dollars worth in cannabis, 1/200’th of that in cash. Plus he lives in Sabattus where the per-capita income is 17k/year.
Excuse me, Sir Drug Warrior, please don’t arrest me for speaking my mind but the math just doesn’t add up.
LEGALIZE. Period.
And what they don’t tell you is once he is convicted, his things will no longer be his. Goodbye property, house, car and lively-hood. He’ll do a couple/few and then have no idea where he is going to go or what he is going to do, with nothing. Chances are, he just might resort to some form of crime, as, it pays. And thus, a criminal is born, out of necessity, to survive. And I can hear the conservatives in one ear and the liberals in the other already. Both screaming about something unimportant and forgetting the root of the cause. And so it goes, on and on and on. Seemingly forever.
All for a harmless plant.
The cost of this war on drugs is more then all people can afford to pay. Truly sad.
$600,000 is what taxpayers will have pay for 2 weeks worth of “investigation” and ten years of this mans life behind bars. * SMH * Silly government trying to control personal habits.
Legalize it, tax it, and move on! The pot war is like the alcohol wars during prohibition. Expensive and fruitless.
unless you work in the criminal justice system…
Spot on Tom! Our tax dollars at work.
Funny no picture of the giant hog weed…
How do they come up with these astronomical figures–maybe they jus screwed up with the zeros–60,000 would be more like it–annnnd thats only if the plants have nice buds.
But officer, I have a bad case of glaucoma.
Follow the money. The War On Drugs / the industrial prison business/ the never ending increases in “necessary” spending to pursue this war – it’s a major growth industry and it’s all total bulls**t. How many of us believe we’re truly safer because some grower’s been stuck in jail?
