PORTLAND, Maine — An intake sergeant at Maine’s Cumberland County Jail has been charged with drunken driving.

Gorham police pulled over 42-year-old Jennifer Slocum on Saturday. Sheriff Kevin Joyce told The Portland Press Herald that she does not drive a vehicle as part of her duties so there’s no immediate effect on her job.

He says there will be an internal investigation once the case is resolved.

A court date has been set for Nov. 14. Slocum couldn’t be reached at the jail Wednesday, and it was unclear if she had retained an attorney.

  1. If it is her 1st OUI she should be treated just as anyone else would be and no, she should not lose her job.

    1. But if she is found guilty she will lose her job. No criminal records to work in jails from what i have been told
