WATERVILLE, Maine — A Waterville transient is facing a felony charge after threatening his child’s mother with a knife on Sunday, police said.
Nicholas Robbins, no age given, had met up with the woman around 2 p.m. to discuss visitation arrangements for their child, according to Waterville Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey.
It didn’t take long for an argument to ensue between the two, and Robbins promptly showed a folding knife and threatened the woman, Rumsey said.
She contacted police, and officers were able to locate Robbins at McDonald’s on Main Street and took him into custody.
He was charged with domestic violence terrorizing, a Class C felony since he displayed a weapon, according to Rumsey.
Robbins remained at the Kennebec County Jail on Tuesday morning.

Don’t let this guy out; he’ll say it’s her fault and go after her.
on the one hand, IF what she says is true then he needs to go to prison.
however, I’ve seen women exploit the system, lie about altercations, and even be physically abusive toward men without any consequence for their actions.
Men get the shaft when it comes to custody and visitation.
the double standard is so prevalent here in Maine.
and if you research for “womens help groups” there’s a plethora of them, but go ahead and try to find a “mens help group” or “mens rights group”
There aren’t any.
So start one.
The only part of this story that needs to be known is “folding knife” displayed by the man. Threatening spouses (weather male or female) with weapons should actually equally “get the shaft” regarding visitation. Anybody who has any propensity to criminally threaten (severe bodily injury or death) has no rights to interact with spouse or child due solely to that propensity. This article states, if correct, that it was the man with the knife who made the threat. We all learned too much from the Steven Lake case on June 13, 2011 and many others in Maine to ever falsely believe that a threatening parent or any parent with that capacity should have any right of contact with spouse or child. Period.
