MOLUNKUS – Carlton H. Norris Jr., 70, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at a Lincoln health care facility. He was born Sept. 7, 1942, in Old Town, the son of Carlton H. and Catherine E. (Benner) Norris.
Carlton worked in the lumber industry his entire life, from cutting wood to hauling wood, and most recently operating a sawmill with his family. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Pine Tree Lodge No. 172 A.F. & A.M., Molunkus.
Carlton is survived by two children, Catherine A. Norris of Mattawamkeag and Carlton H. Norris III of Molunkus; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Norris and his wife, Gloria, and Peter Norris and his wife, Cheryl, all of Mattawamkeag; a sister, Martha Kimball and her husband, Steve, of Medway, a sister-in-law, Sherrill Norris of Lincoln; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Carlton will also be missed by his special canine riding companion, P2. In addition to his parents, Carlton was predeceased by a sister, Sandra Tolle; and a brother, Richard Norris. The family extends a special thank you to Carlton’s granddaughter, Rose Grass, for her help in making Carlton comfortable in his final illness, as well as Community Health and Counseling Services of Lincoln.
