SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — A man was arrested after he continued to assault his girlfriend even as officers banged on his door early Sunday, according to police.
Harony Garzon-Castano, 24, of South Portland is facing a charge of domestic violence assault, a Class D misdemeanor, after his arrest about 7:30 a.m. at his Hill Street home, South Portland police Lt. Frank Clark said.
A witness called police after noticing Garzon-Castano and the woman arguing outside the house before going in, Clark said.
When police arrived, they said they could see Garzon-Castano assaulting the woman with his fists.
Officers kicked down the door and had to use a Taser on Garzon-Castano before they were able to take him into custody.
The woman did not require medical attention. Garzon-Castano was booked into Cumberland County Jail, where he remained Monday.

ANYONE who has worked on these cases knows it is hell getting the woman to testify. This is probably the best (winnable) case the cops had.

Thanks for kicking the door in and for tasing the knucklehead, SPPD. Great job. Based upon this report, if correct, it should be an aggravated and class C felony. Bail should be $10,000 cash. Once more on his part without regard to silly excuses or drunkennness, and jail without bail.
