ELLSWORTH, Maine — An Ellsworth man was arrested Saturday night after drunkenly pushing a police officer at a local bar, according to a police report.

Ellsworth police Officer Chad Wilmot was conducting a routine bar check at Chummie’s on Water Street around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Lt. Harold Page.

Everything seemed fine at first, Wilmot wrote in a police report, including with one of the patrons who was drinking that night — Ricky Sinclair Jr., 34, of Ellsworth.

“At first, Mr. Sinclair was fine,” Page said Monday. “He talked to Officer Wilmot, and there were no problems.”

About five minutes later, Page said, a bar employee approached Wilmot and told him Sinclair was harassing other customers and trying to pick a fight. Sinclair allegedly refused to leave and pushed Officer Wilmot, which led to his arrest.

Sinclair was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct and brought to Hancock County Jail. He was freed Sunday on $500 unsecured bail, and will make an initial appearance at Ellsworth District Court on Nov. 20.

    1.  If he is, he’s not an immediate family member. Randy (the young man killed) was a Jr. himself. A cousin maybe?
