PRESQUE ISLE – Bernard A. Howlett, 83, went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 8, 1929, in Westfield, the son of Elmer and Muriel (Brown) Howlett.
He worked for 17 years at Nabisco, Presque Isle, and then for 28 years as a school bus driver for SAD 1.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Ramona (Hall) Howlett of Presque Isle; his eight children and their spouses, Terry and Shirley Howlett of Presque Isle, Betty and Gary Barnes of Easton, Virginia and Ronald Foley of Cary, Kathy and Mike Gardner of Presque Isle, Cindy and Corey McDonald of Standish, Wendy and Randy Clark of Presque Isle, Penny and Bob Gagnon of Westfield and Bernie Howlett of Bangor; 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Winston Howlett of Easton and Ronald Howlett of Newark, N.Y.; and two sisters, Jean Kane of Surry and Lorraine Daggett of Guilford. Bernard was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Watson, in 2010; a brother, Harold Howlett; and a sister, Phyllis Sullivan.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, with the Rev. Gail Bellany officiating.
