STATESVILLE, N.C., and HOLDEN – Wayne Southard, 45, of Holden, passed away unexpectedly Oct. 16, 2012, in North Carolina. He was born March 23, 1967, in Bangor, the son Robert and Georgia Southard.
He was previously employed by city of Bangor Public Works and was employed as a hauler operator at NASCAR Nationwide Series. Wayne truly won the hearts of many friends, and his friends at NASCAR have given him the checkered flag!
In addition to his parents, Wayne is survived by his wife, Michelle (Dauphinee) Southard; two sons, Kyle and Michael Robert; Michelle’s daughter, Lacey Sawyer; and brother, Michael Southard and his wife, Rachael. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Southard Jr.
Memorial services are scheduled 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Hermon Baptist Church. In Wayne’s memory a trust fund will be set up for his son, Kyle, care of his nana, Georgia Southard, 12 Nottingham Way, Brewer, ME 04412.
