OLD ORCHARD BEACH, Maine — The body of a woman was found inside an Old Orchard Beach house following a fire Tuesday after firefighters put the flames out.
Fire Marshals are investigating the cause of the fire, which occurred on Wesley Avenue.
Sgt. Joel Davis of the fire marshal’s office told WCSH-TV that the victim was identified as Patricia Noel, 62.
Properly staffed FD’s have enough personnel on scene to search for victims while simultaneously containing and extinguishing the fire. Understaffed FD’s must choose one or the other based on the conditions (heat, smoke, fire). It has been said most smaller FD’s conduct the same tasks sequentially that the better staffed FD’s conduct simultaneously. One has a huge advantage over the other when it comes to property and lives saved.
