SKOWHEGAN, Maine — Police say the arrest of a local man on Saturday may be related to other recent drug arrests in the area.

Scott Jones, 46, of Skowhegan was arrested and charged with possession of a Scheduled W drug and violation of conditions of release, Class D and E offenses, respectively. Jones was out on bail for an unrelated, non-drug related charge.

At about 3 p.m. on Saturday, the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department executed a drug search warrant on a person and vehicle on High Street in Skowhegan, said Detective Lt. Carl E. Gottardi II in a statement on Sunday.

Strips of Suboxone, an opioid, $1,200 in cash, drug related paraphernalia and a white 2003 Mercury Sable were seized by police, said Gottardi.

Gottardi said other charges may be forthcoming against Jones and others after the case is reviewed by the district attorney’s office.

“This case, along with other recent cases, has been an ongoing investigation into illicit drug trafficking activities in Somerset County,” said Gottardi.

Gottardi said he believes this most recent arrest also is connected to Terrance Allen, a New York man who was arrested on Tuesday and found in possession of 50 oxycodone pills.

    1.  In fairness, the mug shot facility at your average local lockup is not exactly the portrait studio at Sears. :)

      1. I think it is the same photographers that take the ID photos for the BMV. At the same time, we have all seen some photos of these type of characters that look as though they are posing for their portfolio shot.

  1. Not all dark tinted vehicles are drivers who are drug dealers, but drug dealers, drug runners, and drug users love driving vehicles dark tinted. Even before these news stories of illegal drugs increasing in the Skowhegan area, i have noticed a very noticeable increase of vehicles with dark tint in the past 6 months.

  2. Sometimes I think people actually try to look crazy in these booking photos.  Dude, put your eye back in your head.
