OAKFIELD – Jean Alice “Mammie” Crandall, 86, died Oct. 29, 2012, in Houlton. She was born Oct. 27, 1926, in Oakfield, the daughter of Wendell and Gladys (Parker) Boutilier.
She was married 52 years to Colby W. Crandall. Jean enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, taking care of babies and spending time at the lake.
She is survived by three children, Carroll and Jerri Crandall, Bruce and Marla Crandall and Lori and Johnny Nadeau, all of Oakfield; eight grandchildren, Shelly and David Beals, Christine and James Hunt, Colby and Shannon Crandall, Levi and Dora Davis, Eric Crandall and Gudrun Presley, Rachel and Travis Desrosier, Jonathan and Julie Nadeau, and Kelli and Clay Lawlor; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Leonard and Anne Boutilier, and Dale and Marlene Boutilier, all of Oakfield; four sisters, Joyce Hersey, Lois Somers, Donna and LeRoy Hersey, all of Oakfield, and Janet Harvey of Patten; a brother-in-law, Guy “Joe” Crandall of Smyrna; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Boutilier of Oakfield; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Colby; and a brother, Everett. The family thanks Dr. Abouleish and the progressive care staff of Houlton Regional Hospital for the excellent care Jean received from them.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Sterling Lawrence officiating.
