NORTHPORT, Maine — A woman who law enforcement officers said used a golf club to smash the windows of her husband’s excavator was arrested Wednesday night and charged with domestic violence and criminal mischief.

Jeff Trafton, chief deputy of the Waldo County Sheriff’s Department, said Thursday that officers went to the couple’s home after a complaint came in at 8:26 p.m. The woman, Daniella MacLeod, 49, of Northport, was arrested despite her husband’s request that she not be taken into custody. Trafton did not offer a motive.

The chief said officers are required under law to arrest someone suspected of domestic violence if there is reason to believe the crime took place. MacLeod later was released on bail.

    1. If she pleads NG without an attorney and waits 10 days she’s guaranteed to have at least 3 Constitutional Rights deprived.  The DA in Maine never complies with MRCrimP, Rule 16.  They will refuse to automatically provide discovery within 10 days of initial arraignment forcing a pro se defendant to walk into the DA’s office and pay for it.  This will deprive her of property without due process of law and the DA’s refusal to comply with Maine Law hinders discovery.

  1.   Tiger Woods’ wife may have attacked his Cadillac Escalade, but Maine women know how to really fix our man…get the excavator.

      1. Except…….Tiger’s wife was a SUPER model, which i highly doubt this woman can even compare too, and secondly, Tiger’s wife got enough money from him to buy an entire ISLAND…which i have a hard time believing this guy has that much going for him, not to mention, i doubt he was hooking up with the types of women that Tiger did…:)

      2. There will be plenty of other opportunities, Kevin, I’m sure.   After all, it’s Maine and half of our ability to get through these long winter months comes from finding funny gems like this in the daily newspapers.

  2. Good thing this didn’t happen in Starks……….they don’t scratch an itch ’till the D.A. says so….
