CARMEL – Robert Joseph Guerette, 68, died Nov. 5, 2012, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Jan. 26, 1944, in Stockholm, son of Sidney Skidgel and Regina Guerette.
He had a strong work ethic and loved to work in the woods with his draft horses. He enjoyed doing things the old fashioned way. Although he was raised Catholic, Robert faithfully attended Kenduskeag Union Church where his wife pastored. He had worked with a number of contractors and was a custodian at Bangor YMCA and at several area churches. He was always willing to help his friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his mother, Regina Doucette of Stockholm; wife, the Rev. Ruth Guerette of Carmel; two sons, Brian and wife, Laurie, of Bangor, and Jason and companion, Danielle Brayall, of Levant; two brothers, Wilbur and wife, Tammy Doucette, of New Sweden, and Sidney Skidgel Jr. of Detroit; five sisters, Diane and husband, Howard Button, of Caribou, Viola and husband, Keith Dickinson, of Stockholm, Diana Stewart of Plymouth, Millie Skidgel and companion, David Love, of Florida, and Carol Small of Etna; sister-in-law, Judy Guerette of Stockholm; and seven grandchildren, including a grandson Robert and Ruth were raising, Brian Guerette Jr. He was predeceased by his father, Sidney Skidgel Sr.; first wife, Evelyn Guerette; son, Paul; and two brothers, Sgt. Donald Skidgel and Ervin Guerette.
