CARIBOU, Maine — A Caribou woman, who was indicted last year after state drug agents were tipped off that she was unlawfully trafficking in painkillers, has been sentenced to serve two years.

Sherri L. Mancos, 43, who already was serving 33 months in prison on unrelated federal charges, will serve the new sentence for unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs concurrently.

Aroostook County Superior Court Justice E. Allen Hunter, who sentenced Mancos last week, also ordered her to pay a $400 fine, which will be due in November 2015, just after she is scheduled to be released from prison.

Aroostook County Assistant District Attorney John Pluto told Hunter that late last year, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency received a tip that Mancos had been selling Dilaudid and OxyContin, two powerful painkillers, after importing them from Canada.

The MDEA recorded a call in November 2011 between the individual who tipped off the MDEA and Mancos in which she offered to sell the individual drugs. The two made plans to meet at a motel.

Mancos was charged after she sold the tipster four 15-milligram morphine pills for $60.

She pleaded guilty in court late last week before Hunter sentenced her.

This is not the Caribou woman’s first brush with the law.

In July 2011, she was indicted by a federal grand jury for possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a firearm by an unlawful user of controlled substances.

She was sentenced to 33 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release on those charges.

  1. She isnt the only one in this state that is doing that. I can only imagine the % that do this every month and get away with it when the perscription  is most likely being paid for by taxpayers. Pathetic lowlifes.

  2. She got a federal offense earlier for having marajawana?  It doesn’t take much to be a federal felon nowadays.  What’s the big deal about owning guns nowadays  too?  We are making criminals out of everybody over simple possession of flowers and guns.  Oh well , it’s job security for somebody and a deficit killer for our Country.

  3. Looks like Physicians are going to have to stop prescribing these drugs and people will just have to drink Whiskey and bite on a bullet for pain control
