WINSLOW, Maine — A three-vehicle accident at rush hour on Election Day resulted in a traffic backup and a Winslow man under arrest, police said.
Grover Cleveland Gallion III, 46, is facing charges of operating under the influence and possession of a loaded firearm without a permit, according to Winslow police Sgt. Haley Fleming.
Gallion was heading southbound on Route 201 around 5:20 p.m. Tuesday when an alert motorist behind him noticed his pickup truck was weaving between the north and southbound lanes, the sergeant said.
Just after the female driver behind Gallion called police, his truck rear-ended an Oldsmobile, which subsequently hit a truck in front of it, Fleming said.
None of the drivers were injured, but rush-hour traffic was backed up and when Fleming walked up to Gallion’s truck, he saw a gun on the dashboard.
Fleming and Winslow police Officer Brandon Lund quickly secured the scene, and discovered that the gun was loaded. After Gallion failed field sobriety tests, he was arrested and booked.
Gallion, who was convicted of OUI in 1999, was released on bail from the police station.

If it wasn’t concealed then what law was broken? You don’t need a permit or have to be sober to have a loaded weapon.
You need a permit to have a loaded handgun in a vehicle….
