PORTLAND, Maine — A stabbing attack which sent a Portland man to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening has turned into a standoff with police on Magnolia Street.
Portland’s Special Reactions Team was being dispatched to a Magnolia Street residence at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Portland police Lt. Bob Ridge. The street already has been barricaded while about two dozen police surrounding the home try to communicate with what they say are believed to be two or three people inside the building.
The victim, who was stabbed multiple times at the Magnolia Street residence according to Portland police, was transported to Maine Medical Center after leading police to the residence. Police initially received a 911 call about a man covered in blood on Allen Avenue between 6 and 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Ridge said the man’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Should change Portland’s name to Stab City.
