PORTLAND, Maine — A New York man is facing drug charges after he rode on a bus to Maine with oxycodone pills in his underwear, the United States Drug Enforcement Administration said Thursday.
According to an affidavit filed by John Bourque of the DEA, Michael Falu, 25, rode from New York to Portland with more than 1,200 oxycodone pills in his underwear. He is facing a Class C felony charge of possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute, punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
According to the affidavit, DEA Special Agent Paul Wolf received a call from Jason Pease of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency on Wednesday indicating that he was in the process of debriefing a confidential source regarding oxycodone trafficking.
Pease explained to Wolf that the source had been contacting a woman regarding the availability of oxycodone pills.
The woman told the source that “there was nothing around,” the affidavit states, and the woman was on her way to pick up her “guy” from the Portland Transportation Center at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
DEA Task Force Agent Joshua Guay was able to determine that Concord Trailways had a 1:55 p.m. bus arriving in Portland from Boston on Wednesday, and drug agents established surveillance at the building at 1:45.
As passengers got off the bus, Wolf observed a man later identified as Falu exit the bus and enter the terminal through a door not usually used by passengers and walk to the front of the ticket counter.
After observing a text message on his phone, Falu walked into the parking lot and got into a blue Dodge Caravan occupied by a man and a woman, according to the affidavit. Agents made contact with the female driver, the same one whom the confidential source had contacted about the drugs.
Wolf removed Falu from the rear passenger seat and when he was patted down, a package of what felt like pills was found in the crotch area of Falu’s clothing. Falu was secured in handcuffs, but Guay couldn’t retrieve the pills because “they appeared to be in the lining of his boxer shorts and could not easily be removed,” the affidavit said.
Falu was taken to the Cumberland County Jail after his identification was confirmed. The bag found in Falu’s boxers contained approximately 1,249 pills, the affidavit said.
Falu remained at the jail Thursday.

Are you glad to see me? Or is that 1,200 oxycodone pills in your underwear?
Awesome….THATS funny……after the cops busted him I bet those pills werent still blue………
Gotcha! Big State. Small popultation. Talk is cheap and damning. Little hiding spot apparently. lol.
Another good reason not to do drugs. You never know who’s underware they’ve been in!
Good work by all!!
That’s quite the package
Ewww! Though I suspect the people addicted to oxy would not care where the pills had been.
It’s just plain nasty!Must be at least an 8 hour ride. Just think of the sweat.
Although,I do think security should be increased at the bus terminals. I am amazed to think the amount of contraband and weapons one could bring on the bus.
I agree. Have been trying for 2 years to get the DEA agents to catch my brother’s girlfriend who goes back and forth from W. Roxbury, MA to Bangor every month. It takes a lot of “surveilience”. We’re gonna get you one of these days DOREEN!!!!!!
If she lives in West Roxbury she must have plenty of money for lawyers.
In Colorado at the bus station they have full time
security personnel on site 24/7.
Helps keep things from getting out of hand.
Still pretty sketchy ” Riding the Dog”.
He should have been more professional and carried them in a body cavity or swallowed them wrapped in condoms (as long as they don’t break mid intestine!).
Oxcycodone with a touch of crack.
Discusting!
A strange way to take your pills, I’ll say that! But wait – hemorrhoid relief anyone?
This case just doesn’t smell right to me.
“…debriefing a confidential source…” ••chuckle••
If all drugs were transported in such manner, maybe less people would use them. It’s just plain gross to think that maybe something people would injest was transported in underwear. Maybe it it just terrorists that transport stuff in their underwear.
Nah you must not know any hard core addicts. I had a friend when I was young who would pick up almost empty beer cans on the side of the road and drink the remainder.
Gee, Now I know why my mom always told me to wear clean underwear.
got on board a northbound greyhound bus to Bangor
didn’t think before deciding what to do
all that talk of opportunities, methadone and pill heads
rang true, sure rang true.
LOL…nice A.H. reference
“Don’t eat the brown oxy!!!”
Nother day in Porkland
