BANGOR, Maine — A Greenbush man who was upset that his estranged wife was out with another man was arrested and charged with drunken driving and felony domestic violence assault last week after he struck her with his vehicle, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Tuesday.

Kevin W. Twitchell, 28, first confronted his estranged wife and her male companion at the New Waverly bar in downtown Bangor at about 11 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, causing the two to leave and go over to the Main Tavern, a block away, the sergeant said.

Twitchell followed.

“He started to yell at them and drove at her and hit her,” Edwards said.

Sgt. Garry Higgins was in the area at the time and radioed in that the woman, who is separated from Twitchell, was lying on the ground.

“The woman and a friend reported she had been run over by her husband,” Edwards said.

The victim was knocked to the ground but was not injured, he said. The domestic violence assault charge was elevated to a felony because Twitchell has a prior domestic violence conviction, the sergeant said.

    1. I agree……Classy wife you have there, out with another man while still married! could it be she is trouble? you can”t afford… Cut her loose..

  1. That is an epic “sad hobo clown” face in the mugshot. He doesn’t even need the makeup to sell it. Five points.

  2. Sounds nice a sober down-to-earth couple. Seems like a lot of those situations that include terms like “ex,” “domestic violence,” 11PM and “downtown bar” end up in a bad way.

  3. It’s great how this story isn’t correctly reporting the happenings of this event. Just because an incident occurs in a parking lot (used by many downtown establishments), doesn’t mean the people involved were “bar-hopping” prior to.
