AUGUSTA, Maine — A home on Spring Road was damaged by fire on Friday afternoon, but firefighters were able to contain the blaze to a bedroom.
Augusta fire Lt. Sean Goodwin said the fire broke out in the bedroom, but a closed door kept it from spreading throughout the house.
Crews from Winthrop, Chelsea, Gardiner and Augusta fought the fire, which was brought under control in about a half hour, according to Goodwin.
Nobody was injured in the fire, and the home sustained heat and smoke damage, Goodwin said.
