PLYMOUTH, Maine — A collision Friday morning on Route 7 sent two people to the hospital with serious injuries, according to police.

Jayson Whitehouse, 26, of Alton, N.H., was heading northbound on the Moosehead Trail just before 11:30 a.m. when his Honda crossed the centerline and struck a southbound SUV driven by Courtney Lacadie, 38, of Dixmont, according to Chief Deputy Troy Morton of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.

Whitehouse was airlifted by LifeFlight helicopter to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor with life-threatening injuries, according to Morton.

Lacadie was taken by ambulance to EMMC with serious injuries that were not considered life-threatening, Morton said.

The drivers were the only occupants of the vehicles, he added.

Both vehicles were demolished in the crash.

  1. @letsbehonestforonce:disqus I know it. I live in Plymouth, and I saw both the scene of this accident, and also where the fire was on Ridge Rd. Not sure what’s going on today.

  2. Tried to get to a friend’s on Moosehead Tr in Dixmont and came upon that scene around 1345 hrs. Penobscot SO still had Rt 7 shut down at the 95 exit. Tough day in Plymouth.
