LOWELL, Mass. — Novelist Stephen King will be sharing his experiences with creative writing students and later with a wider audience at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell.
The horror-master from Maine is the author of books such as “The Stand,” ”The Shining” and “The Green Mile.”
King will give a special class for creative writing majors at the university Friday.
On Friday evening, King and fellow best-selling author Andre Dubus III, who teaches at UMass-Lowell, will share the stage for a conversation about their craft.
At the end of the event, King and Dubus will sign the armchairs they sat in for a raffle to benefit a student scholarship fund.
In October, King made a surprise visit to a Sussex, New Brunswick, high school whose students campaigned for months to get him to visit them by Halloween.

This is one of the 1% that will benefit by Obama’s tax plan. “Garbage man!”
This man and his wife give more to Maine nonprofits than probably any other resident. King publicly stated that he should pay higher taxes. Only the jealous and the bitter would criticize the Kings of Maine.
Be careful for what you ask. At least one showed up.
He needs to be writing giant checks to the DHHS every year to help keep it solvent if he’s going to take the political position he takes! Rah rah consistency!
Soon as you write that check to cover the room, board and paychecks of Lepages extended family.
