LINCOLN – Helen A. Murchison, 83, wife of the late Byron E. Murchison, passed away Dec. 11, 2012 at a Lincoln health care facility. She was born Jan. 10, 1929, in Woodville, the daughter of William and Annie (Chesley) Ireland.
Helen was a homemaker for 63 years, was a very good cook and was known for her molasses cookies and doughnuts. She enjoyed doing things with her family, going to camp and fishing.
She is survived by four children, Edgar of Mississippi, Cheryl Norris and Peter of Mattawamkeag, Byron Jr. of Lincoln and Sharon Breton and Paul of Mattawamkeag; two sisters, Charlotte and Elsie, both of Kentucky; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by eight brothers and two sisters, Ernest, Robert, Nathan, Roscoe, Ralph, Walter, Edwin, Charles, Irene and Leona.
Graveside services will be held at Lincoln Cemetery at a later date.
