STOCKTON SPRINGS – James J. Sedlock, 65, formerly of Seymour and Shelton, Conn., entered into eternal rest Dec. 8, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine (Hemenway) Sedlock. James was born Feb. 9, 1947, in Derby, Conn., a son of Teresa (Purcell) Sedlock and the late John J. Sedlock.
He was a resident of Seymour and Shelton, Conn., before retiring to Maine. He proudly and honorably served during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army 720th Military Police Battalion. James worked as an inspector at Sikorsky Aircraft. He enjoyed remodeling homes and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
James is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Lorraine; and daughters, Marcia (Sedlock) McGinley and husband, Michael, of Ashford, Conn., and Karen (Sedlock) Phipps and husband, Timothy, of Prospect, Conn. He is also survived by a brother, Joseph Sedlock and wife, Michelle, of Shelton, Conn.; and sister, Teresa (Sedlock) Phipps and husband, Gregory, of Oxford, Conn. James was the proud papa of four loving grandchildren, Anna McGinley of Ashford, Conn., and Caitlin, Maeve and Thomas Phipps, all of Prospect, Conn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family extends their gratitude and appreciation to the hospice nurse Kathy Warner for her wonderful care of James.
Services will be held in Connecticut at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to Waldo County Hospice, P.O. Box 772, Belfast, ME 04915. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
