LYMAN, Maine — A Kennebunk man is facing multiple charges after he rammed into another man’s vehicle and subsequently assaulted him on Sunday, police said.
Robert Johnson, 50, is accused of reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, assault and criminal mischief, York County Maj. Bill King said.
The trouble started when the 25-year-old victim was parked on a remote trail near Sonny’s convenience store when Johnson’s vehicle drove onto the trail, King said.
The younger man sensed a problem and tried to drive away, but Johnson rammed the victim’s vehicle, sending it sideways against brush and causing an estimated $1,000 in damage.
Johnson, who is the stepfather of a woman who was a passenger in the vehicle, opened the driver’s side door and punched the other man several times, causing a laceration above the man’s eye, King said. Johnson made threats to the victim not to tell anybody what occurred.
York County sheriff’s deputies launched an investigation and Johnson was taken into custody at 1 a.m. Monday at his residence, King said.
Johnson was brought to the York County Jail and later released on $1,000 bail.
Not that it justifies the attack…but how old was the stepdaughter I wonder…

Two sides to every story. Things to think about. Nobody is really innocent until proven guilty in a society where media digs for anything drama-filled and publicizes it without a full story. Johnson was with the stepdaughters mother. That wasn’t mentioned. They were in search of her troubled daughter and found her hiding in the woods. The kid recklessly tried to get away. Why? Cause he was guilty of his own crime. Daughter is now safe. Stepfather has to pay for his crime. Kid looks like a victim but I think not.
