INDIAN TOWNSHIP – Alfred Simon Socoby, 79, passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, in Indian Township. Alfred was born Jan. 14, 1933, in Indian Township, son of the late Joseph and Agnes (Sacobie) Socoby.
He worked for Passamaquoddy Lumber for many years, Georgia Pacific and security for Indian Township. Alfred was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and harvesting wood.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by all his siblings. Surviving are his godson, John Tinker and his partner, Eugene Roskom, of Indian Township; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visiting hours will be held beginning noon Tuesday, Dec. 18, until 9 a.m. Thursday at the home of Doris Chapman, 83 Hemlock Point Road, Indian Township. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann R.C. Church, Peter Dana Point. Burial will be afterward at Tribal Cemetery. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais and Eastport.
