CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine — Three juveniles were arrested and multiple others summoned in the wake of cookies laced with marijuana being sold at Cape Elizabeth High School earlier this month, according to police.

Capt. Brent Sinclair of the Cape Elizabeth Police Department said three boys, two 17-year olds and a 15-year old, are facing aggravating trafficking in scheduled drug charges, a Class C felony. The charge is aggravated due to the fact the incident occurred on school grounds.

All three boys were released to the custody of their parents, Sinclair said.

In addition to the three arrestees, three 15-year old boys, four 16-year old boys and Samuel Sherman, 18, were all summoned for possession of marijuana, according to Sinclair.

  1. “Scott Hewitt of Caribou was the driver of a commercial tractor trailer truck proven to be the cause of a fatal crash along Interstate 95 on July 29, 2005. That wreck resulted in the death of 40 year old Tina Turcotte of Scarborough. An investigation by the Kennebec County District Attorney’s office indicated Hewitt was under the influence of marijuana at the time his truck crashed into the back of Turcotte’s automobile.”

The Florida man who chewed off the face of another man last month in a zombie-like cannibal attack used marijuana. Rudy Eugene, 31, was killed by a police officer after Eugene’s 18-minute attack on a homeless man. His body didn’t show “any other street drugs, alcohol or prescription drugs, or any adulterants found in street drugs,A video of last month’s incident shows Eugene coming across 65-year-old Ronald Poppo on a sidewalk along Miami’s MacArthur Causeway, stripping clothes off him and eventually chewing on his face. Police said Poppo lost 75% of his face in the attack.

    1. I was with you, no one should ever drive under the influence of any intoxicant (alcohol, marijuana or otherwise), right up until you mentioned the Florida cannibalism attack.

      1. No i didnt. The blue states are the states that are going to legalize POT anytime soon. I am now in a red state

          1. i am in a 30 day grace period,so yes,officially, Geographical, no.
Pot is going to be legal in Maine in 2 years. POT, welfare,no jobs. Enough was enough.

            Red states are the best

          2. Ah…clear as mud, thanks!

I tend to think of New England as the most sensible region in the country and I like the 4 distinct seasons. Though every state has it’s pros and cons. Whatever floats your boat.

          3. The war on booze ended and Booze was legalized in 1933
How is that going for the country ever since?
Something like 20000 people killed by booze drivers every year, times the past 60 years. Broken families.

The POT deaths on the roadways have started to exponentially increase in the country and POT has not even legalize yet in the country. Except for the 2 blue states.

          4. Prohibition has (and had) it’s fair share of side effects as well. No matter which way one leans – legalize or not – one must acknowledge that it’s going to be a catch 22. At least if it’s legal, taxpayers would get some return to counter the negatives.

          5. The end of prohibition happened under FDR’s watch! Now the beer-liquor-wine industry is “too big to fail!” Just the way Obumble likes it! And we know he likes beer and smokes! And pot!

        1. Massachusetts is the quintessential blue state and always will be.
What will you do when they replace Kerry with another absolute democrat? They will…..
You lost the marijuana debate. It’s over and it will be legal. You need a new drum to beat.

          1. The issue is not the marijuana debate, it is now the increased numbers of road accidents caused by marijuana use. It isn’t bad enough we have drunk drivers on the road, now we’ll have potheads.

        2. Testing positive and being under the influence are two different things when it comes to pot. You can test positive and not be under the influence.

      1. I am noticing that about pro-POT people. Like the race card is used to blame everything on race, pro-POT people try to use ‘it-was-something-else’ then POT that caused a crime or a death.

        1. And you’re not trying to for blame POT every tragedy and accident you can find on Google, right? You, old fella, are playing The Pot Card.

          1. Look up ‘Dumbing Down of America’,began in the early 80s
If your under 33, your a product of the dumbing down of America and you dont even know it.

          2. In my personal opinion, The “dumbing down of the USA began when we instituted mandatory public education. BUT the point here “dumbing” is subjective, and based on an individuals perception of what is “dumb.” I feel someone is “dumb” if they can not rewire their own house, or fix their own automobile. Other people feel that I am dumb because I can not recite Longfellow from memory or appreciate the color scheme in a Van Gogh painting..

          3. Please, you can barely string together a coherent sentence and you’re on here suggesting that others have been “dumbed down”. In reality, there is a lot of evidence that average IQs are actually several points higher than in what I assume to be “your day”.

          4. Cool your jets, pally. Don’t make me tell everybody about your lewd comments about the college girl was killed…

    2. I realize you’re basically an old crab who has decided that pot is The Devils Weed, but that tree you’re barking up has been dead quite a while. Do the same research for booze and see what goes on, old dude.

      1. When your offspring [or their offspring] are born with autism or some other mental learning/emotional disability, you will be the new crab that blames plastic bottles or global warming -or something,..and not the POT chemicals you inhaled and polluted your body with for years.
Do the research, autism was unheard of 40 years ago, just before POT smoking became mainstream in the country. Now look at the autism rate.

        1. having worked with autistic folks in the past, I have never heard of this malady being linked to marijuana. You have some documented research (from respected journals) or is this just your best guess.

        2. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome doesn’t count and lets pay attention to your babbling, eh? Who is this “YOU” and “YOURS,” Skowhead? LOL Time for the medication, the home wants all computers off from 9-11 to go play Bingo. Atta boy, off to the dayroom for a little hate-a-thon, there ya go…

  2. How much were they charging per brownie and was it good weed? I believe The Judge will take that into concideration…

  3. One question asked ,under oath, when attempting to join the US military: ‘have you had marijuana?’ “yes or no”. If any juvenile ate the cookies, not knowing they were laced with marijuana and they were looking forward to a military career, they will now have to say ‘yes’ , to be truthful. They will get in but its that ‘already one mark’ on a possible military career’s track record.

    1. Not really sure where you’re coming from with such a fierce focus on pot. Is it because it is illegal and people are using it illegally, is it because it’s a drug period, and if so, why not the outrage over alcohol, abuse of prescription meds, etc, is it religious based? What’s with such an obsession over pot?

      1. The legalization of POT is just one more incremental step in the process of the 30 year old Dumbing Down of the United States. Even people that knew about the Dumbing Down of the United States are now dumbed down.

        1. Marihuana allows the mind to think of dangerous librul ideas, and must be stopped! IT’s the gateway to being librul!

        2. The legalization of POT is just one more incremental step in the process of allowing US citizens free choice. I personally favor the legalization of all drugs.

          1. The Mexican drug cartels are in favor of legalizing POT and other drugs too. So they can sell drugs openly on the streets and not have to use runners and middle men.

  4. No doubt children of liberal elitists from Cape Elizabeth. Mom might want to check her prescription pot stash for any discrepancies.

    1. I suppose not one conservative parent has never had cannabis in their possession and they’ve never tried it…… you people are pathetic

  5. “…aggravating trafficking in scheduled drug charges, a Class C felony..” First of all, the correct legal terminology is ‘aggravated.’ Does Capt Sinclair not know that, or has the reporter misquoted him?

Second, considering the bleeding heart nature of Maine’s judicial system, these punks will be shown that laws really don’t mean anything except employment for lawyers. The “system” will suggest they receive some kind of counseling.

    1. “Punks?” Do you know them personally, or do you just think of all young people that way?I did far worse than this when I was young, and grew up to be a crime free adult….(Thankfully my State discarded records of juvenile crime after five years.)

    2. “Punks” really?? Harmless little fun and all you holier then thou types are ready to lynch them and their parents. I can’t stand you move away now please.

      1. Are you serious or are you thirteen years old? This was not some harmless, teenage prank.
Whether you agree with the law or not, the fact remains that this is a felony and caused physical distress to some students who may or may not have been told about the marijuana. That distress was significant enough for several students to seek medical attention.
I sure hope you do not have any children or grandchildren. With your apparent permissive attitude toward teenagers breaking the law and, essentially, assaulting another person, prison might be a predictable outcome.

        1. Exactly what harm was done to warrant a felony? So suspend them for a week and have them do 40hrs volunteering with drug addicts and everyone moves on. OR convict them of a felony and ruin the rest of their lives. And say they should if thought of that before blah blah unfortunately making mistakes is part of growing up!

    1. Why would that be the right thing?? God you people are so stupid now I remember commenting and reading these stupid posts!
