ALTON, Maine — An Alton man was indicted by a Penobscot County grand jury Wednesday on several charges stemming from a Dec. 1 domestic dispute involving a firearm as his home.
David O’Clair, 51, was charged with aggravated attempted murder, domestic violence reckless conduct, domestic violence criminal threatening and aggravated assault.
The charges stem from a dispute with a female family member, Sgt. Roy Peary of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office said shortly after O’Clair’s arrest.
Police were sent to O’Clair’s residence just before 3 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, after receiving a report that an an assault had occurred, according to Peary.
O’Clair reportedly threatened his victim with a firearm and also assaulted her, the sergeant said. A firearm was discharged in the home, Peary said, but nobody was shot.
