WATERVILLE, Maine — Police in the Elm City are investigating an unattended death, Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey said Friday afternoon.

He said a man’s body was discovered at 12:30 p.m. at 295 Kennedy Memorial Drive. The body was found by men working in the area, according to Rumsey.

Waterville police and officials from Maine State Police Major Crimes unit worked to recover the body, whose identity was not released, Rumsey said.

The man’s body was taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta for an autopsy.

Waterville police and state police are investigating the incident, Rumsey said. No further information was available.
