BANGOR, Maine — Crews throughout the state were hard at work during the day Friday to restore power to customers who remained in the dark following Thursday’s storm that produced strong winds.
As of 3 p.m., just over 3,900 customers statewide had no electricity.
Approximately 1,360 Bangor Hydro customers were in the dark at 3:00, according to the company’s website.
The most affected areas were Washington, Penobscot and Piscataquis counties.
Bangor Hydro spokeswoman Susan Faloon said she is hopeful all Bangor Hydro customers will have power restored by the end of the day.
“That’s the goal, but it may not happen,” she said. “They’re plugging away at it.”
In addition to Bangor Hydro’s outages, 2,377 Central Maine Power customers remain in the dark at 3 p.m. Friday.
Lincoln County had 1,054 customers without electricity, according to the company’s website.
CMP spokesman John Carroll said he hopes service will be restored statewide by late Friday afternoon.
