HOULTON – Lois D. Gentle, 84, died Feb. 11, 2013 at her residence. She was born March 1, 1928, at Littleton, the daughter of Newell and Fern (Ellis) Drake.
Lois was a very active member of the Houlton Wesleyan Church. She loved being with her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Lois is survived by her son, Larry McCarthy and his wife, Tricia, of Houlton; her granddaughter, Kelli Tidd; two great-grandchildren, Micah McCarthy and Abigail Lowrey, all of Houlton; two brothers, Donald Drake of California, Paul Drake of Hampden; her sister, Marion Henderson of Houlton; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, George “Bodie” Gentle Jr.; her son, David McCarthy; and two sisters, Leona Ledger and Virginia Pelletier.
Friends may call 11 a.m. until the time of service 1 p.m. Wednesday at Dunn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating. Spring interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
