TURNER and MAPLETON – Shawn J. Burrill, 41, passed away very suddenly in his sleep Feb. 15, 2013, at home. He was born July 20, 1971, in Presque Isle, and was the loving husband of Wendy McAvoy Burrill.
Shawn graduated in 1990 and later from truck driving school. He exceeded in sports, pitch, hit and run state finals, wrestling champ for his division during high school coming in second in state. He was working for Emerson Chevrolet, Auburn. He and Wendy had their own business, B & B Auto Detailing. He worked off and on with his dad at Jim’s Automotive, Mapleton.
He is survived by his wife of less than one year; stepchildren, Amber and Quinton Weiss; mother, Alicia Farley; half sisters, Lanette Grant and family and Alice Harper and family; father, Jim Burrill and wife, Karen, and stepchildren, Jon Moore and family and Jennifer Washington and family; special uncle, “Bubba” Ronnie Burrill of Lincoln; many other aunts, uncles and cousins that loved him dearly; as well as his former wife, Becky Irish, whom he remained close friends. He was predeceased by his stillborn son; grandfather and grandmother Farley; grandfather Burrill; and special gram, Rowena Burrill. He was truly loved by many friends up and down the state.
Calling hours will be held noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at State Road Advent Christian Church, Mapleton, where a celebration of life service will begin 2 p.m. with refreshments immediately after. A second celebration of life for those who cannot travel to Presque Isle will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Nezinscot Village, Buckfield.
