BAR HARBOR – Eleanor Elizabeth Hodgkins, 96, died March 3, 2013, at a health care facility. She was born May 28, 1916, in Bar Harbor, daughter of Henry and Geneva (Leland) Woodworth.
She was a lifelong resident of Bar Harbor, where she was a member of St. Saviour’s Episcopal Church and served on the altar guild for many years. She worked with the Girl Scouts and was a member of Rebekah Lodge, member of Past Noble Grand of Unison and served as marshall of Rebekah Assembly. She worked several years at Sunset Club, Town Hill, and also at Elmhurst Inn, Bar Harbor, where she enjoyed hearing many interesting stories told by the guests.
She is survived by two daughters, Jackie Agnese and husband, Henri, of Northeast Harbor, and Allison Guidi of Bar Harbor; four grandchildren, Cheryl Agnese and Michelle Agnese of Belfast, Roger Agnese and wife, Terry, of Freeport, and Carolyn Eaton and husband, David, of Fort Atkinson, Wis.; seven great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Meagan Eaton, Anna and Zachary Damon, Christopher Shelton, Joshua Shelton and wife, Meredith, and Griffin Agnese; two great-great-grandchildren, Holden and Henri Hansen; also many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Milton Hodgkins, in 1994; five brothers, Merrill, Preston, Alton, Carroll and Herman Woodworth; and son-in-law, John Guidi.
Spring graveside services will be held at Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor.
