WALDOBORO – James F. Trafton, 74, passed away peacefully Feb. 27, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was born July 31, 1938, in Fort Fairfield, a son of Harold and Vera Trafton.
Jim grew up in East Corinth, where he enjoyed working with his family on their farm. He graduated in 1957 from East Corinth Academy where he was an All-State basketball player. After high school, he went to work for Bangor Hydro-Electric Co. for 36 years, retiring in 1994.
He was predeceased by his sister, Katherine; and brother, Howard. Jim is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marylin; sister, Barbara; four children: daughter, Debbie Soule and husband, Ed, of Enfield, and sons, Hal Trafton and wife, Patty, Tim Trafton and wife, Cindy, all of Danbury, Conn., and Andy Trafton of Portland; grandchildren, Shannon and Jason, Kelly, James and Jessica, Connor and Morgan; as well as other family, friends and neighbors.
