MATTAWAMKEAG – Tuesday, March 12, 2013, Gwen went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Pearl Simpson; her husband, Fred A. York; sisters, Patricia Cormier and Diane Hooper; and son-in-law, Dan Clark. She is survived by her stepmother, Elsie “Peggy” Simpson; a sister, Grace and her husband, Alan Harris; children, Paul and Stacy York, of Marion, Va., Brenda Clark, of Mattawamkeag, John and Laurie York, of Dolby and Christine and Harry Worster, of Springfield; grandchildren, Dan and Sally Clark, Kevin and Lisa Clark, Angela McCleary and Alex Held, Jeffrey McCleary and his significant other, Kerri Dwyer, Matthew and Chasity York, Stephanie and Cory Hartford, Blaine York and Samantha and Jaimmie Caron; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Tina Toth, Ron and Margie Wheaton, Dan and Joyce Nicholson and Ruth Hewett.
There will be a memorial service 10 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at Mattawamkeag Baptist Church.
