CARMEL AND BANGOR – Scott A. Willey, 52, died unexpectedly March 6, 2013. He was born Nov. 1, 1960, in Bangor, the son of Harry and Helen (Lavway) Willey Sr.
Scott graduated from Hermon High School and attended the University of Maine, Orono. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve. Scott worked at the Big Apple Store, Orono, for 20 years. He was a practical joker who enjoyed photography, and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Scott loved his cat, Ginger, and enjoyed spending his time with her. He was passionate about music and playing the guitar. Scott took great joy in introducing and instructing other people to play the instrument he loved so much.
In addition to his parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Harry Willey Jr.; and a sister, Gail (Willey) Emerson. Scott is survived by his nephew, Fred Emerson III of Hermon; cousin, Paul Lavway of Carmel; brother-in-law, Fred Emerson Jr. of Hermon; and his best friend, Donald Washburn.
Graveside services will be held in the spring at a time and date to be announced.
