LINCOLN – Sonya C. Mahar, 72, wife of Dennis W. Mahar, passed away March 27, 2013, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born, Dec. 29, 1940, in Lincoln, daughter of Bertrand and Alma (Rollins) Crocker.
Sonya was a certified nurse’s aide and did volunteer work in the hospice program. She was an accomplished artist and a published writer. She enjoyed being by the ocean, and especially liked cooking for her grandkids.
In addition to her husband, Dennis, she is survived by four sons, Russell Knights and Angela, Thomas Knights and Sonja, Craig Knights and Tracy, and Corey Knights and Loyann; 13 grandchildren, Vanessa, T.J., Josh, Payton, Camden, Tyler, Danyell, Karla, Mason, Camryn, Jordan, Nikki and Randy; sister, Arlene and Robert Lyons; brother, Bert and Debbie Crocker; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sons, Timothy Knights and Daniel Knights.
