KENNEBUNK, Maine — An Arundel man has been arrested and charged with trafficking in heroin, allegedly resulting in the death of a Kennebunk man.
Matthew Danis, 27, of Arundel was arrested on March 29 on a warrant charging aggravated trafficking in heroin resulting in the death of Charles Lipesto, 39, of Kennebunk on Jan. 20.
A joint investigation by the Kennebunk Police Department and Maine Drug Enforcement Agency concluded that Lipesto had contacted Danis and placed an order for heroin and a syringe to inject it with. Danis then delivered a syringe and heroin to Lipesto, who subsequently injected the heroin and died as a result of acute heroin intoxication, police said.
Danis is being held at the York County Jail on $10,000 cash bail pending a court appearance.
The Saco Police Department’s forensic computer lab also assisted the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency in obtaining evidence.
