VASSALBORO, Maine — The Maine State Police welcomed 11 new troopers to the force following a graduation ceremony Friday at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy.

The new troopers completed eight weeks of state police training and will patrol with a veteran trooper for the next few weeks.

Thomas Bureau of Farmingdale, Desiree Wuthenow of Augusta, Seth Allen of Manchester and Erin Ball of Lisbon have been assigned to Troop D based in Augusta.

Earning Troop F assignments out of Houlton in Aroostook County were Andrew Levesque of Madawaska and Jacob Ferland of Lincoln.

Blake Conrad of East Andover will be assigned to Troop C in Skowhegan, with Jeffrey Taylor II of Bangor patrolling Troop J in Ellsworth.

Graduates Adam Schmidt of Sterling, Mass., has been assigned to Troop A in Alfred, Adam Gould of Hermon to Orono’s Troop E, and Justin Huntley of Virginia, assigned to Troop G in Portland.

BDN sports freelancer Ryan McLaughlin grew up in Brewer and is a lifelong fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins.
