AUGUSTA – It is with great love and sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Ellen Clement, 71, Thursday, March 28, 2013, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta, after a long battle with multiple brain tumors and several severe illnesses. Born in 1941 in South Portland, she was the eldest of three children born to Maynard and Lena Leeman.
Raised in Bucksport she moved to Southern California with her husband, Edmund Clement, after their wedding in 1960. She moved to central Maine in 1988, two years after her husband’s passing. She was most recently residing at Maine General Rehab & Nursing at Glenridge, Augusta. She was a member of New Life Church of God, Readfield. She was a credential minister through Church of God denomination. Throughout her life, she volunteered and/or had a ministry in food banks, nursing homes and Christian radio. She will be remembered for having shown God’s unconditional love and acceptance to everyone she met.
She is survived by two brothers, Ronald Leeman and wife, Sharon, of Wiscasset and Paul Leeman and wife, Grace, of Montague, Calif.; three sons, Edmund Clement II and wife, Cinda, of Pinon Hills, Calif., Eldon Clement and wife, Jarlene, of Ledyard, Conn., and Edson Clement and wife, Shona, of Clinton; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sizeable extended family.
A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Friday, April 19, at Family Worship Center, Church of God, Route 3, 2580 North Belfast Ave., Augusta.
